Press ReleaseRelease Date: June 16, 2009 Local Medical Practice Adds Walk–In Hours COOPERS MILLS – In order to make medical care more accessible to the local community the providers and staff at Sheepscot Valley Health Center (SVHC) are pleased to announce walk-in hours are available. From 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday, established patients of the practice can be seen for acute medical needs without an appointment. Acute medical needs include earaches, sore throats, severe coughing, colds, urinary infections, and sudden rashes. The Practice continues to be open for appointments on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. "We don’t want anyone to have to wait if they require medical care," said SVHC’s Dr. Roy Miller. "If a patient wakes up not feeling well we want them to be able to come right in and get back on a path to feeling better." Out of respect to other patients who may need care during walk-in hours visits are limited to one issue per patient on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information or to make an appointment please call SVHC at (207) 549-7581. Located on 47 Main Street in Coopers Mills, SVHC is also open for weekday appointments from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Tuesday hours available until 6:00 p.m. On call emergency coverage remains available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. SVHC is a practice of HealthReach Community Health Centers (HRCHC), a system of eleven federally qualified health centers, and two dental centers, in Central and Western Maine. Dedicated providers deliver first-class healthcare to citizens in over 80 rural communities. To ensure access for everyone, HRCHC accepts Medicare, MaineCare, major insurances and offers an Affordable Care Program based on family size and income to uninsured and underinsured residents. A private, non-profit organization with a 30-year history, HRCHC is funded by patient fees, grants and individual donations. |
