Press ReleaseRelease Date: July 2, 2009 Lovejoy Health Center welcomes Gretchen Morrow, PA-C ALBION -- Gretchen Morrow, PA-C will be joining Lovejoy Health Center in Albion this summer as a physician assistant. Ms. Morrow is a recent graduate of the Physician Assistant Program at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she also received her undergraduate degree in Health Science in 2007. She brings six years of experience in various health related roles. "I am excited about returning to Maine to provide medical care in rural areas of my home state," said Morrow. "Providing medical care and forming relationships with patients of all ages at a health center with a long history in the community of Albion are wonderful opportunities." While in school she enjoyed working in a busy Boston emergency room. During her time in the ER she gained experience with a variety of procedures and worked closely with nurses and physicians to provide care to critically ill patients. Upon graduation Morrow was inducted into Pi Alpha, the physician assistant national honor society as well as Alpha Eta, the allied health professions national honor society. She was also awarded the Welch Allyn award for excellence in her physical exam skills. Her clinical interests include in-office procedures, as well as women's health and preventive care. Morrow joins two physicians, Drs. Forrest West and Larry McAleer, as well as Dr. David Austin who has returned to Lovejoy for the summer. The clinicians provide medical care and preventive services to 4,500 residents of Albion, China, Freedom, Palermo, Thorndike, Troy, Unity, and other surrounding communities. Lovejoy Health Center is one of eleven medical practices of HealthReach Community Health Centers (HRCHC), a system of federally qualified health centers in central and western Maine. To ensure access for everyone, HRCHC accepts Medicare, MaineCare and major insurances. In addition, an Affordable Care Program is available to uninsured and underinsured residents. The company’s Navigator program is also available to assist patients in filling out and submitting applications for other programs that may help with the cost of health care and medications. HRCHC is a private, non-profit organization with a 30-year history, and is funded by patient fees, grants and individual donations. |
