She recently completed the Eastern Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. As part of this program, she spent time at Bingham Area Health Center completing a rotation during the summer in order to begin learning about the practice and the community. She received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (ME) in 2006, and also completed an Anatomy/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Undergraduate Teaching Fellowship at UNE in 2005. Her clinical areas of interest include preventive medicine, women's and children's health, and osteopathic manipulative medicine. Dr. Amethyst Arceo shared her reasons for choosing to practice in Bingham: "I joined the National Health Service Corps with the goal of practicing in rural Maine. Bingham seems a friendly and welcoming community located in a beautiful area. The clinic staff members are exceptionally amicable and helpful and the health center seems well run." "What more could I ask for?" she continued. "My predecessor has practiced in Bingham for over 25 years, so I took that as a very good sign that I would be happy in Bingham." Dr. Arceo joins Cynthia Robertson, MD in providing medical care to over 1,800 area residents each year from many towns in Upper Kennebec Valley. These include Bingham, Caratunk, Embden, Moscow, Pleasant Ridge, Solon, The Forks, and West Forks. In addition, Lawrence Jacoby, DMD, MPH and Jacquelyn Arsenault-Watson, RDH provide dental services to area residents.
