Ways to Give

Employee Giving

The exceptional staff of HealthReach Community Health Centers takes pride in our daily work of providing high quality medical and dental care to area residents and visitors. HealthReach employs over two hundred physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dentists, clinical support and administrative staff hailing from local Maine communities, prestigious medical and dental training programs, multiple states, and other countries. Many staff members have deep roots in local communities and proudly provide health care to their neighbors. Some of our providers have worked at our local health centers since they were founded over thirty years ago. Each year, new family practice residency graduates and seasoned providers seeking new challenges choose to begin working in our facilities.

Our staff has a well-established practice of contributing time and money to important causes:

Annual Campaign: HealthReach employees have a long-standing tradition of contributing to local communities through the Annual United Way Campaign. In 2007, we initiated our second annual Combined HealthReach/United Way Campaign raising a total of $15,637. 48% of our employees and board members participated in the Campaign raising $11,222 for HealthReach and $4,415 for United Way organizations. 100% of our governing board and senior managers contributed to the Campaign in 2007.

Medical Leave Bank: Each year, HealthReach employees take advantage of the opportunity to support peers experiencing personal or family crises by donating vacation hours. In 2008, 69 employees (33% of our workforce) contributed vacation hours valued at $13,888.

Community Volunteer Opportunities: Many HealthReach employees participate in volunteer opportunities in our local communities by serving on boards and task forces and donating time for schools, camps, ski patrols and social service organizations. In addition, HealthReach clinical providers, administrators and support staff play critical leadership roles in state of Maine initiatives as well as in local communities. HealthReach representatives serve on state associations (Primary Care, Bureau of Health, Public Health, and Dental Coalition). In addition many employees participate in local committees and boards (schools, healthy communities, domestic violence prevention, diabetes and hospice).

Local and International Emergencies: In response to the tragedy of the 2004 Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, a number of HealthReach employees made contributions to relief efforts through a one-time payroll deduction.

Investing in HRCHC programs not only supports the health care of your neighbors; it is also an investment in the economy of your local region.
