The providers at Sheepscot Valley Health Center offer a full range of family medicine, caring for infants, children, adults, and pregnant women. Our doctors provide hospital care through MaineGeneral Medical Center at the Augusta campus. In 2008, 4,346 residents received medical care at the health center. Patients come from an extensive geographic region spanning parts of three counties, including the communities of Jefferson, Somerville, Washington, Whitefield, and Windsor.

Our health center has been providing medical care since 1980. Roy Miller, MD, the health center’s first provider when it opened, continues to provide care to the community along with Carol Eckert, MD who joined the practice in 1982. The health center has grown significantly over the years and now includes six providers to accommodate the health care needs of area residents. Through the dedication of a group of local residents, an old church was transformed into our medical facility. Multiple renovations and restorations supported the growth of the practice.

Situated near the banks of the Sheepscot River, Coopers Mills, a close-knit and supportive community, is ideally located halfway between Augusta, the state capital, and the picturesque Maine coast. This small country town offers a rich assortment of community activities, including public suppers, seasonal celebrations, and civic events. Recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities are easily accessible, and the population is diverse in its interests and occupations. The pristine Sheepscot River provides kayaking, fishing and swimming for all.
